In the Studio

I've had Florence and the Machine on repeat lately.

It has become like an obsession!  Her voice and their music is so incredibly emotive.  I have been at work on my latest creation, 'Mending', as shown on the easel in my messy studio in the first photo.

I'm very happy she has already found a good home.

I couldn't resist creating a very feminine, vintage inspired dressing table set for her photos on ETSY.  Check out the photos and my description of the artwork by clicking here.

Until next time.

News Update!

Happenings and Carryings On...

Hello good people.
I thought it was about time to update everyone since there will be a lot happening over the next few months!

My ETSY shop

There is a whole heap of new originals in my ETSY store needing good art loving homes if you haven’t already had a peruse through the store.  I have also added a heap of new art jewellery lately and more is going to be added over the coming days.

In addition, I have also just sent off a line of greeting cards featuring my artwork to the printer.  I am really excited about this new line of stationary and equally as excited that it will be printed locally and using 100% recycled card.  It is absolutely beautiful stock and I am looking forward to sharing these with the world via my online stores soon!

Upcoming Exhibitions

I am going to be painting like a mad woman over the next few months with three exhibitions on the (not so distant) horizon (I’m not sure how these things always end up coming all at once but they always seem to!) and for some reason my art seems to be gravitating towards organic cafés at the moment…

First up is a solo exhibition at Ruby’s Organic Café in picturesque Stirling, SA.  This solo will run for the month of July and will showcase a variety of originals including some new large scale works.

I also have two exhibitions coming up for SALA (South Australian Living Artist Festival) in the month of August. Claire Ishino and I are teaming up again for an exhibition entitled, Sodachi, a Japanese word meaning “Grow” at Bliss Organic Café, in Crompton Street, Adelaide.  I will also be participating in the Port Adelaide Artists’ Forum group exhibition entitled SAiL Away at Gallery Yampu, Port Adelaide.

Workshops!

I am very excited to announce that it is my plan soon to start some face to face workshops in Adelaide, teaching mixed media art techniques for adults.  In the future there may also be the possibility of online workshops too and as such I would also be most interested to hear any ideas of what you would be interested in learning or exploring in my classes!  Please leave a comment on my blog here or my facebook – or email me at art_enquiries (at) hotmail.com

More details about workshops will be sent out soon via my mailing list and at present more info can be found here.

Wishing you all the best until next time!

In the Studio

A rare occasion where my studio is clean.  I can't help but notice that the traces and colours which are left behind from the process of creating are often just as beautiful as finished works of art.
